Review
Wayne Barron
I have not been a huge fan of all of Megadeth's releases, just like any band, it is hard to get into every song they record. Some of the music just seemed to fall below the waist-side for a lot of bands releases. However, with Megadeth, they have had several good songs over the years from Symphony of Destruction (From: Countdown to Extinction), A Tout le Monde, Family Tree (Youthanasia), Trust (Cryptic Writing) and several others. (Will have to go back and listen to them all, with the adult metal Wayne and see if I like what I hear today, compared to the younger me).
Dystopia is all-in-all, a great release. All the songs are very well written, played, and produced. David's voice is at it's best. Tone and everything is there. The guitar work is spot on, as well as the drum work. There are certain songs that a bit fast. However, most of the songs are slowed down, with a damn good beat to them. If you are a hardcore Megadeth fan, you are sure to love this album. If you are wanting to get into listening to Megadeth, then I suggest listing to Dystopia and then Peace Sells. As both these albums, have to be the best of Megadeth.
