About

KISS released their 5th album (fourth Studio Album) on March 15, 1976 titled Destroyer. The third song on the album is God of Thunder, Sung by the Demon, Gene Simmons. And was written by Paul Stanley.

Song History

Bob Ezrin suggested that the song be slowed down, and that Gene sing it instead of Paul.

God of Thunder is usually performed with Gene flying high above the crowd, like a demon in the night, sitting atop his perch, and watching over his prey, as he sings about being the ultimate God of Thunder.

Paul original sung God of Thunder, and it was recorded. However, it was never released, until the KISS Box Set. (Disc 2 (1975-77)).

Say it
Uh?

I can't hear it
Not that damn loud!
What? I don't wanna go too loud
What?

Bla blah blah raa raa raa!

Sung by: Gene Simmons

You've got something about you
You've got something I need
Daughter of Aphrodite
Hear my words and take heed
I was born on Olympus
To my father a son
I was raised by the demons
Trained to reign as the one
God of thunder and rock and roll
The spell you're under
Will slowly rob you of your virgin soul
I'm the Lord of the wastelands
A modern day man of steel
I gather darkness to please me
And I command you to kneel
Before the
God of thunder and rock and roll
The spell you're under
Will slowly rob you of your virgin soul
I am the Lord of the wastelands
A modern day man of steel
I gather darkness to please me
And I command thee to kneel
Before the
God of thunder and rock and roll
The spell you're under
Will slowly rob you of your virgin soul
